Rules for Fitting Heating Controls in Devizes
A typical internal smart thermostat replacement in Devizes does not need planning permission. Swapping heating controls on an existing circuit is generally minor electrical work, but it must still be done safely. Work affecting a gas appliance should be left to an engineer registered for that appliance. Questions about listed buildings or conservation areas in Devizes can be directed to Wiltshire Council.

Heating questions answered
How much does smart thermostat installation cost in Devizes?
Most smart thermostat installations in Devizes cost between £150 and £450 supplied and fitted. The price depends on the model, whether it controls hot water and how many smart radiator valves are added.
Can I fit a smart thermostat myself?
Some kits are designed for confident DIYers, but most involve mains-voltage wiring at the boiler or wiring centre. If you're not sure, a professional installer can fit it safely and check it works with your boiler.
Will a smart thermostat work with an old boiler?
Most boilers that use a standard room thermostat can work with a smart thermostat on simple on/off control. Older boilers won't support modulating control, so some advanced features may not be available.
Where should the thermostat go?
Ideally in a room you use often, away from radiators, direct sunlight, draughts and kitchen appliances. Wireless models can be placed on a shelf or table, which makes positioning easier.
